Dale Sunderlin

Dale W. Sunderlin Sr.

Founder Camp Camo Organization

Hunting and the outdoors experience started for Dale at the age of five. His father Tom Sunderlin would take him along while rabbit and deer hunting. At 12 years old because of state regulations and his father’s upbringing, he was allowed to purchase a hunting license and join in the hunt and has been ever since. Whitetail deer, Elk, Bear, Wild Boar, Ram, Waterfowl, Turkey, Rabbit, Squirrel, Upland Game, and an African Safari have all been part of Dales hunting experiences.

Since founding Camp Camo ten years ago, Dale has dedicated his time to involving children in the Outdoor Sports. He and his wife Janie have personally instructed thousands of children in the proper, safe, and ethical use of firearms, archery, and fishing equipment. Both his and Janie’s outdoor resume read like a page out of who’s who in the outdoor industry. Their credentials are beyond reproach as they strive to be the best in the industry and make themselves credible to the parents of the children they mentor.

In the winter of 2008, Dale decided he had to do more and with the help of his good friend Don Powell, they formed a Pro Staff. Through the dedication of this Pro Staff Camp Camo has now taken their mission one-step further. After they thoroughly instruct and educate these children, they are now taking them on actual outdoor adventures, hunting, and fishing.

Camp Camo’s motto is “Pass it on or it will surely pass on”. Dale not only believes in this motto, he lives it, as you can see from his list of credentials and accomplishments.

Janie Sunderlin

Janie Sunderlin Co-Founder Camp Camo Organization

Born in a small town in Maryland Janie’s outdoor education started at an early age. One of the earliest things she can remember was telling her Dad was when she grew she wanted to marry Mr. “Posted”, ya know the guy with his name on all the woods, and I want to hunt all those woods. Much to her dismay, dad explained who Mr. Posted really was. Unfortunately, her father passed away before she was able to tell him that she had found her Mr. Posted. Although he doesn’t own all the woods, he hunts, loves the outdoors, and welcomes Janie to share his love.

Janie and Dale were married in formal camo with the entire wedding party dressed in the same. Janie’s dress was full-length camo and Dale wore a Camo suit jacket, as did the best man. Janie’s love for the outdoors was personified by the presence of the two 3D deer at the pulpit. To this day, Janie can be heard telling women whom she talks to “Yes I wear camo, and… I wear my camo with pride”.

Janie is a driving force when it comes to Camp Camo. She firmly believes in Camp Camo’s mission to educate children in the outdoors sports. Personifying a true outdoors lady, Janie is there every step of the way instructing them, hunting with them, and passing on the traditions. Her credentials are that of a true “woman in the outdoors”.

Now when Janie thinks back about what she told her dad so many years ago, she can feel the smile coming to her dads face, but now he’s saying, “Yep ya done good, not only with Mr. Posted but in all you do in the outdoors.” As to what makes Janie smile its simple, “Passing it on”, and hunting with “Mr. Posted”
